WHAT P0300 MEANS

P0300 means several Optima cylinders misfired or no one cylinder dominated. Save P0301–P0306 companions, temperature, load, fuel correction and rail pressure. One cylinder needs plug, coil, injector and compression tests; multiple cylinders need shared intake, fuel, voltage and timing analysis. Theta GDI/turbo, Nu, Hybrid and early V6 powertrains require different cylinder maps and fuel-safety procedures. P1326 reduced-power events and P0014/P0017 companions must be handled before high-load reproduction.

Capture the pattern before parts move

A one-bank V6 pattern differs from all-cylinder events; the latter raises shared fuel, airflow, voltage or contamination.

Use deposits and fuel data together

Compare gap, cracks, fuel wetness and oil ash. If the count stays, test injector contribution, low/high pressure and compression/leak-down.

Follow KGIS depressurization and one-time-part rules for GDI. Do not loosen a high-pressure line as a diagnostic shortcut.

Resolve protection and timing companions

P1326 requires its campaign/safety path; P0014/P0017 raises cam timing. Those causes cannot be repaired with a complete coil set.

Verify stable counts in original safe conditions and no pending P0300 before catalyst testing.
