WHAT P0300 MEANS

P0300 means several cylinders misfired or none consistently dominated. Preserve P0301–P0306, bank codes, counters and freeze data before clearing. Engine architecture changes the pattern: the 4.0L inline-six and 2.0L inline-four have one bank; the 3.8L and 3.6L V6 have two. One cylinder needs targeted plug/coil/injector/compression testing, one V6 bank suggests local air/fuel/timing, and all cylinders suggest shared fuel, vacuum, timing, voltage or contaminated fuel. Do not install a full set of coils from P0300 alone.
