WHAT 2D2E MEANS

BMW 2D2E means manifold pressure/vacuum was implausible for throttle angle. It does not automatically condemn the throttle body. First verify that the installed DME actually uses this four-digit fault, then save throttle, pressure and adaptation data, inspect the pressure-sensor connector and wiring, smoke-test induction and crankcase ventilation, and check brake-booster/vacuum plumbing plus purge sealing. Four-digit BMW faults belong to specific DME generations: an E70 N52, E70/F15 N55, V8 and diesel do not share the same VANOS, boost, fuel or cylinder logic.
