P0300 means multiple Tiguan cylinders misfired or no one cylinder dominated. Preserve P0301–P0304 counts, temperature, load, trims and rail pressure before moving components. Cold-start deposits or injector leakage, boost-only ignition breakdown, PCV/air leaks, fuel-pressure loss and mechanical timing create different patterns. A flashing MIL means reduce load immediately because raw fuel can overheat the catalyst.

Test crankcase ventilation and purge sealing and pressure-test charge plumbing. A turbo intake leak may change both trims and misfire behavior.

Prove mechanical health when ignition does not move it

Use relative compression, leak-down and injector contribution after a controlled ignition comparison. Correlation faults justify cam/crank waveform analysis.

Verify the original temperature/load condition without meaningful counts. Repair the misfire before evaluating a catalyst code.
