WHAT P2015 MEANS

P2015 means the Q5 intake-runner position did not agree with the commanded range. It does not prove the manifold failed. Identify the 2.0 TFSI, V6 gasoline or TDI runner system and Bank 1, run the factory basic setting, compare target with actual position, watch the linkage and test its vacuum or electrical supply. A single-bank V6 problem and an inline-four one-bank system require different interpretation.

Map the installed runner system

Use engine code and manifold part identification to determine actuator type, feedback arrangement and whether components are separately serviceable.

Observe linkage, vacuum diaphragm or electric motor as the scan tool requests travel. Load-test wiring and inspect connector tension.

Q5 diagnostics span 8R and FY generations with longitudinal 2.0 TFSI, supercharged 3.0 TFSI, 3.0 TDI, hybrid and plug-in-hybrid powertrains. Turbo or supercharger control, intake runners, fuel pressure, cam timing, catalyst banks and EVAP routing differ sharply. Confirm VIN, model year, engine code and electrified-powertrain status before applying a bulletin or component diagram.
